Christmas postcard inspired by an adorable illustration by Swedish artist Jenny Nyström (1854 – 1946). The picture shows a very cute toddler boy on a red wooden horse decorated with flowers (a Dalecarlian horse). In one hand he holds a wooden sword and in the other one the reins of the horse. He looks cheerful and very ready for battle. The illustration was published in 1922 for 'Lill-Nisse' a Swedish Christmas booklet for small childen. Lill-Nisse would translate to something like 'a young Christmas gnome'. A great Christmas card especially for people with a connection to Sweden - or just a fondness for Scandinavian folklore.
